Time for some tough love…
God’s messages are meant to save souls. He says there are still too many ‘I ain’t gonnas’ – those who are choosing to listen to lies and follow man’s ways — and too many sogs – those who are putting self first, ones who think and look like them next, and ignore God, thus, in their eyes, reducing him to a lower case g — paying little to no attention to him and what he offers. In the very least, ‘they are cutting off their noses to spite their faces’. More so, God realizes that what they are doing is keeping them in darkness, spiraling downward. They are seemingly uninterested in soul saving, even their own soul, the soul of the church, the nation, the world.
God is not giving up on them. In the blog’s ‘What to expect and not expect from this Site’ entry, we were told to expect messages of truth wrapped in God’s love and meant for all His children. We were also told that sometimes this love comes in the form known as ‘tough love’. Be prepared in future blog entries for these tough love messages to be delivered in God’s unique ways.
Tough Love messages will be delivered through…
__Woes. We find woes in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. For example, Ezekiel delivers woes to Jerusalem because of their idolatry. Jesus criticized the hypocrisy and self-incriminating ways shown by the scribes and Pharisees.
___Poems. Not to be confused with the poetic offerings in the Bible, for example, in Psalms and Proverbs, the offerings in the blog are God-inspired rhyming verses. Like the poetry found in the Bible, these rhyming poems are meant to teach lessons about the wisdom of following God’s ways.
___Songs. God says music is a universal language. Songs can be used to teach lessons.
___Letters. Some tough love messages will be delivered through letters – to specific individuals as well as to groups of people whose, individual and collective, words and actions need to be addressed.
___Stories. There are stories in the Bible to which we can relate. These will help us see poor decisions made by long-ago people that are still being made today.
___Wise sayings were pronounced in the Bible. Some of these mixed with modern-day wise sayings will be used to help us see ways we are ignoring wisdom, clinging to unwise ways instead.
___Dreams. Through the ages, God has used dreams to relay his messages. He is still using dreams to help us learn our mistakes, so that we can make needed changes.
___Abominations. The Bible lists words and actions that the Lord despises and are abominations to him. We must be reminded of them for they are as displeasing to God now as they were in Biblical days.
Remember: God’s messages are meant for all his children. He wants to save souls of all who want to be saved. Remember, too, that God’s messages are delivered wrapped in his blanket of love.
Upcoming: Songs deliver God’s tough love message: You Don’t Know Me.
